Pineapple Peach Greenie

Good Morning. So I have an hour commute every morning to work, usually I savor my smoothie during the ride and typically have some left over to drink once I get to work. Well, not this morning. This smoothie was so good I drank the whole thing within 15 minutes (and 2 brainfreezes later) I was left wanting more! The sweetness of the peaches and juice, the tangyness of the yogurt, and the citrus from the pineapple make this a winner. And who doesn't love all the added vitamins and minerals from the spinach? Basically this smoothie is a winner.

1 cup pineapple mango Trop 50, 2p+
1 cup )% plain Greek yogurt, 3p+
1 cup frozen peaches, 0p+
1 banana, 0p+
1/2 cup frozen pineapple, 0p+
1 1/2 cups baby spinach, 0p+

Layer ingredients in blender in order shown and blend til smooth.

Yield: 1 | 5p+

Nutella Chocolate Decadence

Oh my wow. If you have a chocolate craving, for whatever reason then this is the smoothie for you! Check it.

1 cup 1% milk, 3p+
2T Nutella, 5p+
1/2 cup plain 0% Greek yogurt, 1p+
2T sugar free Hershey's syrup, 1p+
1 banana, 0p+
2T cool whip free, 0p+
5 ice cubes

Layer ingredients in blender in order shown and blend til smooth.

Yield: 1 | 10p+

Now, I know the p+ value of this is kind of high for a breakfast smoothie. But look at it this way, you get in 1 1/2 servings of your dairy and a fruit/veg serving as well. The Hershey's syrup is not really needed as it was crazy chocolatey. The Cool Whip would have been just as delicious on top of the smoothie as it was mixed in.

I have noticed that a lot of people from the Weight Watchers board I frequent are beginning to count calories instead of points. I want to start posting the calories but need to find a reliable source to begin doing it from. So I am working on it and if you are counting calories don't give up on me!!

1 cup plain 0% Greek yogurt, 3p+

Layer ingredients in blender in order shown and blend til smooth.

Yield: 1 | 4p+

Pineapple Mango Banana Smoothie

Hey all! So I am finally back with some great new ideas. Here is one that is so delicious. I will give you warning though, it is quite tart, likely due to the large amount of plain Greek yogurt. My mango was a little under ripe, if you were to use a really ripe mango it might help but if you make this as is, don't be expecting anything sweet. You could always add a packet or 2 of splenda to sweeten things up.

So, nearly all of my previous smoothies had protein powder in them. While you will still see smoothies that contain protein powder I am looking to obtain more protein from the Greek yogurt, instead of from the protein that has tons of other gunk I can't even pronounce in it. The protein powder I use, Deisgner Whey has like 20g of protein for 1 scoop and 2p+, the 1C of Greek yogurt I used in this recipe has 19g of protein and 3p+. I weighed heavily on this decision but decided that since I normally use 2p+ for protein and 1p+ for 1/3C regular yogurt, the 3p+ for Greek was the way to go.

So finally, here's the recipe:

1C minute maid light OJ, 1p+
1C non fat plain greek yogurt, 3p+
1 banana, 0p+
1 mango, chopped, 0p+
6 chunks frozen pineapple, 0p+
2 cups spinach, 0p+

Place ingredients in blender in order shown and blend til smooth.

Yield: 1 | 4p+

Hey Blogland!

I have been so off the map lately and I do apologize. I kind of fell off the wagon of my weight loss journey and therefore fell off the smoothie making journey as well. But fear not smoothie lovers, I am ready to make my return! I have been pinning some amazing new ideas and can't wait to try out some yummy new concoctions in the near future. Look for some new recipes coming late this month!!

Tropical Smoothie

1 cup 1% milk (3)
1/2 6oz container 2% pineapple Chobani greek yogurt (2)
1 banana (0)
4 strawberries, frozen (0)
1/3 cup mango sorbet, I used Ciao Bella brand (3)

Layer ingredients in blender in order shown and blend til smooth.

I made this smoothie as a mid day snack, and I will have to say it is quite large for a mid day snack. I probably could have split it with someone. But it is so good, that will most likely not happen. Enjoy!

Pumpkin Smoothie

1 cup 1% milk (3)
1/4 cup canned pumpkin pie mix (2)
1 banana (0)
1 scoop low cal vanilla protein powder (2)
2T rolled oats - uncooked (1)
3 ice cubes (0)

Layer ingredients in blender in order shown and blend til smooth.

Yield: 1 | 8p+

Note: I used canned pumpkin pie mix here instead of plain canned pumpkin because I knew it would have a better taste, however, if you want to use plain canned pumpkin (for 0 p+) try adding in a tsp of pumpkin pie spice (0) then you can get the same taste for 2 less p+!!

Cherry Cheesecake Smoothie

Well, I would first like to start off with some awesome news! I follow a blog called Emily Bites it is an awesome sight with tons of delicious recipes, she is also a part of Weight Watchers and also posts all of the points+ values for her foods. Trust me though, if you are not a Weight Watcherer her food is still delicious and something everyone will absolutely love. So I told you that story to tell you this story. I was perusing Emily Bites one day and noticed she was doing a giveaway in corroboration with Del Webb. They were giving away a free, ya FREE, Kitchenaid Cooks for the Cure blender. I of course entered the contest and low and behold I was the WINNER!!! Seriously most awesome thing I have ever won. I think Emily was correct when she said it must be fate that I won since I have a smoothie blog! Isn't she gorgeous. I think I will call her Rosie :) So I had to test that puppy out and here is what I came up with for today --

1 cup light plain soy milk (2)
1/3 cup FF vanilla yogurt (1)
1/3 package fat free, sugar free cheesecake pudding mix (0)
1 1/2 (or 3 squares) graham crackers (1)
1/2 cup frozen cherries (0)
2 ice cubes (0)

Layer ingredients in blender in order shown and blend til smooth.

Yield: 1 | 4p+

Note: I made this as an afternoon snack today, not as a meal. Therefore, I didn't add the protein powder simply because I didn't want to add the extra points. It is mine and my boyfriends 4 year anniversary today so I am splurging on dinner and need to save all the points I can.

Enjoy, and thanks again to Emily Bites
